Dining...
When most people think of a sailing adventure
their thoughts turn to sailing, being in the
sun, snorkeling and all of the activities that
make for a perfect day in the islands. When the
trip is over another aspect of the trip that
usually stands out is the accommodation of the
crew and the food! There is always
something special about food when you are
enjoying it in the outdoors or on a boat. On
Shiwara you can eat on deck or in the grace of
the dining salon down below. many people go home
spending a good deal of time talking about the
wonderful food and service of the crew.
The sailing adventure aboard Shiwara is
individually tailored to meet and exceed the
specific desires and expectations of our guests.
Each party of guests is given a preference form
prior to their arrival, which lets us know of
personal interest relative to dining and
activities. This allows us to create a charter
experience personally and uniquely tailored to
you.
Alexandria , the First Mate and Chef, has
trained under a world-renowned Five Star Chef in
Amsterdam. Whether you would like t dine lightly
or formally, enjoy vegetarian or Wellington, or
want French or Caribbean fare, Alexandra can
respond with flair and flavors that will surely
please. While exploring the Caribbean Islands,
many guests wish to sample the local cuisine as
well, so Alexandra is always ready with fresh
fish, and tropical fruits to enhance your
culinary adventures on Shiwara.
Beverages, like the food, can be specified in
advance so that we can have all of your favorite
on boards prior to your arrival. There will be
cold bottled water, sodas, beers and other
daytime coolers for sipping in the shade of the
awning. Fine wines and favorite cocktails are
also available during the day and evening. Frozen
tropical drinks and tasty treats often compliment
afternoons. Evenings under the stars with a
relaxing nightcap are also standard fare.
To many, part of the fun of the islands is
experiencing some of the local flavor with the
tiny shops and tropical restaurants ad bars.
Matthew and Alexandra with the large 15 foot
dinghy can deliver local nightlife and local
charm at the drop of a hat.
