Captain Kjell and Chef Jean Melkvik

Captain Kjell (Shelley) Melkvik and chef/mate Jean (Jenny) Melkvik wish to welcome you aboard SEA DREAMS.
Together they will guide you to many beautiful tropical destinations throughout the Caribbean. You will be able to explore the islands at your own pace and in your own style. Whether it's walking the white sand beaches, diving the wrecks that scatter the Caribbean, snorkeling the many beautiful reefs, or sailing in the wake of legendary pirates. We will make your SEA DREAMS come true.

Captain Shelly followed the Norwegian tradition of life at sea. He holds a merchant ticket from both Norway and the United States merchant marine academies. His long career at sea has earned him an unlimited license for all oceans in the unlimited weight class. He has a wealth of knowledge and experience few can hope to match. From racing in New York Sound in the 50's to the magnificent yachts of the 80's. Shelly sailed pleasure yachts all over the world throughout his career as a super tanker captain. He is always glad to share his many tales of past adventures over a rum punch. His many talents will surprise you. From photography to cooking to ancient pirate lore' more than one guest has been astounded by his knowledge.

Shelly's mate is his wife Jenny. They met in Mallorca, Spain where Jenny was the Principal of an International College. Jenny comes from an academic background and holds degrees in mathematics and physics. Her keen interest in astronomy and the natural world bring depth and richness to paradise as she opens your eyes to the wonders of the sea and heavens. Her culinary skills are famous throughout the islands. From breakfast al fresco in the cockpit to sumptuous dinners in the main salon your taste buds will tango till they drop. When she's not cooking Jenny delights in showing guests the reef and its creatures. She and Shelly are both scuba divers.

This multilingual crew's repertoire includes English, Spanish, Norwegian, German and a touch of French. They are an experienced crew that will fill your vacation with the memories of a lifetime.
