Endless Summer II has proved itself over the years to be one of the top charter yachts in the Caribbean. Our repeat charter statistics bear testament to this. Integral to this success has been our crew. We now operate with a core crew of three and when they take a break from the busy schedule we are joined by one of our many experienced past crew members. Miles Sutherland-Pilch
Miles joined Endless Summer as first mate at the beginning of 1997. He was an instant success with our guests who warmed to his personal charm and easy manner. At the end of that season, he honed his chartering skills as a free lance bareboat captain. During this time, he met Lisa Hart and they worked together on many of these charters. A professional and personal relationship developed between them. Now Miles is back with Endless Summer II as captain and we welcome Lisa as our new chef. Miles already has over of 40,000 sailing miles to his credit, including four Trans-Atlantic crossings and one Trans-Pacific. He is a commercially endorsed RYA Yachtmaster (Offshore) and an instructor for the American Sailing Association. He is a co-founder and director of Transatlantic Windsurf Racing, the company that organized this year's exciting race from Newfoundland to Weymouth in England. In 1995 he spent 5 months sailing the waters around Cuba and Haiti as part of a sea mammal survey team that was particularly interested in the current population of the endangered Caribbean Monk seal. This blond curly headed young captain, brings a vibrant enthusiasm and a wealth of sailing experience to Endless Summer II. Lisa Hart
Soon Lisa was being asked to cook on charter yachts (mostly by Miles)! She embraced the challenge, worked with established yacht chefs and attended culinary classes. As her cooking skills developed, so did the demand for her services, from small bareboats to large crewed yachts. Following a sailing trip last summer to the San Blas islands and a tour of Panama and Costa Rica, Lisa returned to the BVI as the chef aboard Endless Summer II. Youll be impressed and delighted with her creativity and flair, always the perfect meal for the perfect occasion.
Geoffrey Ross Geoff joined the crew in the fall of 1998. A native of Halifax in Nova Scotia, he grew up day sailing and racing in club regattas. Geoff is an accomplished gymnast and represented Canada in his youth. After two years of business studies, university and a possible career as a male model were put on hold and Geoff headed for the Caribbean. As delivery crew on a passage from Nova Scotia to Trinidad, he visited many of the Caribbean islands and decided Tortola was the place to settle for a while. He's a NAUI certified diver, a windsurfer and a keen participator at the Willy T in the popular sport of body shots. Geoff's intention is to return to college to pursue a course in International Marketing but not before seeing a little more of the world Barry Rice Some 20 years ago, Barry was a natural gas engineer in the UK. Now he makes his living sailing in the Caribbean. There has to be a story there!
His relaxed, confident and caring style has brought so many guests back year after year. In 1995 Barry saw the potential of adding a luxury guesthouse to the Endless Summer program and began construction of a hillside villa. It was a time consuming project and now we are pleased to say "Summer Heights" is in full operation and Barry plans to spend more time back on Endless Summer. |
