Captain
Mike Bowen,
Mike, a 34 year old Brit, began his sailing career 13
years ago when his family bought a boat and set off for
Australia. He started working in the charter industry
when they stopped in Antigua. Since then he has crewed
professionally on yachts from 50 to 150 feet including 'Parsifal'
and 'Harbinger', sailing around Asia, across the
Indian Ocean and Mediterranean Sea, and throughout the
Caribbean.
Captain Bowen obtained a Master 5 Level Commercial
Endorsement from Freemantle Nautical College. Both he and
chef Susie Thomson completed a culinary program at the
Australian School of Tourism and Hotel Management and
hold certificates from the Wine Education Society of
Western Australia. Charter guests will enjoy the skills
of two trained chefs and wine connoisseurs!
A windsurfing and PADI certified diving instructor,
Mike will gladly assist you on or under the water. Mike
skippers the boat with skill, confidence and ease to
ensure that everyone has a safe and memorable trip. He
encourages guests to participate in sailing 'Bogey 1' and
planning daily itineraries and activities.
