Captain Norman Welthagen
Norman built and launched
Catamaran Free Ingwe in Africa in November 1998.
Sailed for the caribbean virgin island in January
1999 and has sailed the area for the last 10
months. He learnt to sail in 1970 while in the S.
African Navy. Norman has sailed extensively in
the Mediterranean and sailed through the Suez
Canal and The Red Sea. Norman has traveled
extensively and lived in Germany for seven years.
He still has business interests in Africa and the
Far East. His other passions are Snow Skiing,
Golf, Tennis, Diving, Wild Life Photography, Deep
Sea Fishing and Hiking. Norman also speaks
German.
Rose lived and learnt to sail and has a great
love for the sea. She crewed on a 1912 Schooner,
as well as on copy of the original "JOLLY
ROGER" in the Caribbean as "The
Chef". She also managed "Claverley
House Hotel" in Knightsbridge England. Her
other interests are Hiking, Golf, Squash, Diving
(She has dived most of the worlds famous dive
spots) Jogging and Equestrian Sports. Rose has
also traveled the world extensively.
