Cpt Anton & Rita Du Plessis

Come and explore natures little secrets aboard "Cherona" with her South African crew:

Love at first sight brought Anton (captain) and Rita (Admiral/Chef), together as teenagers. Having mutual interest both learned to scuba dive, sail and they flew their own private airroplane. They studied alternative medicine in California where they achieve their doctors degree in Nutripathy. They had a practice for 3 years in San Luis Ovispo and qualified as Instructors in Iridology. Rita also got her certification in Aroma Therapy message. Before they set sail she qualified as a paramedic.

Being a successful farmer in South Africa for 15 years, Anton has a natural love for nature and people. He had over 300 employees with which he shared a great relationship due to his outgoing and social character.

Besides all of this they owned their own restaurant in town where Rita developed her culinary skills and her love for cooking which you will discover with every meal aboard "Cherona". Your individual preferences and dietary requirements will be taken care of by her expertise.

Together they decided to sell the farm and their passion for sailing urged them to buy "Cherona". Since 1991 they've been cruising the Indian Ocean with their four children, home schooled by Rita.

Soon they set sail to cross the Atlantic Ocean to South America. They sailed through the Caribbean, not missing one Island, through the Bahamas up to the United States. After traveling for 2 years they returned to the Virgin Islands, where they would love to share the beauty and their adventures with you.

Their love for children welcome families with kids and they ensure that you will leave to go home wih an unforgettable experience.
