Captain John Straub grew up in South
Africa and began sailing at the age of 9 when his family
joined Mountain Yacht Club. He started ocean sailing at
14 and learned scuba diving, fishing, windsurfing and
skiing. He also enjoys sky diving, rock climbing and
Micro kite flying. John's combination of practical,
innovative thinking and sense of humor has given him the
ability to create a sense of excitement and adventure for
charter guests on board ReAction.
Chef Anita Dreosti-Straub also grew up on boats in
South Africa. She has Sea and Stillwater Life Saving
courses as well as courses in ocean conservation. She has
managed various restaurants giving her a wide variety of
cooking skills. Anita traveled through Europe for five
years and speaks German. Her love of children and her
guitar can make a pleasing experience for guests.
John and Anita met and married in the Caribbean and
have sailed these waters extensively. They look forward
to showing you a fun activity filled charter on board
ReAction.
