Captain Shayne Dudgeon and Chef Kim
Dudgeon
Together since they were
teenage sweethearts in their native Australia,
Captain Shayne Dudgeon and his wife, Chef and
First Mate, Kim, began sailing together in their
early 20's. Purchasing their own 31 foot sailboat
in 1989, they immediately equipped it for
cruising and spent two years navigating the
waters of Australia. That was the beginning of a
sailing adventure that took them to the
South Pacific Islands of Papua New Guinea, the
Solomon's, Micronesia, the Philippines and Hong
Kong. After working for a few years as crew
aboard charter yachts in Malaysia and Hong Kong,
the Dudgeons set sail again, this time exploring
the Indian Ocean and South Africa before arriving
in the Caribbean, the ultimate cruising
paradise.It is here, in the clear, blue Caribbean
waters, that your cruise with Shayne and Kim
begins.
Your fun starts the moment you
board, when hostess and chef, Kim, greets you
with her warm and cheerful Australian
hospitality. You'll be treated to a daily
array of culinary delights as Kim shares
the specialties and gourmet dishes she's
discovered during her travels. Kim has developed
a broad range of culinary skills during several
years of work in Australia's hotels and
restaurants, and has refined her talents as a
chef by attending the Culinary Institute of
America. Her recipes reflect both her specialized
training and her exposure to the varied cuisine
of many countries.
While you're soaking up the sun
and sampling Kim's delicacies, Captain Shayne
will assure a smooth sailing cruise for you.
Shayne is a licensed Yachtmaster and has worked
on a variety of both sail and motor yachts.
Combining his expert seamanship skills with vast
technical knowledge acquired from years of
working at shipyards, he has mastered all aspects
of yacht management. Shayne enjoys both
teaching and participating in watersports of all
kinds, including waterskiing, windsurfing and
kayaking, and as a PADI Certified Dive
Instructor, he is eager to introduce you to some
of the best diving the Caribbean has to offer.
