Captain Eric Saint Plancat
1st Class French Merchant Marine Captain. Radio operators certificate. Advanced fire training. National Dipolma in first aid and rescue.

Eric Saint Plancat is probably the most qualified captain in his age group. Havoing passed with honours his French Baccalaureate at the age of seventeen, he has never ceased to accumulate experience in the sailing domain.

During his last ten years he has mostly worked on sailing yachts for both commercial and chartering purposes.

he has often sailed in the Caribbean ad mediterranean waters, which makes him particularly at ease when sailing on DOCE FRANCE. Eric is very flexible on the itineraries as DOUCE FRANCE cruises at an average of 15 knots!

Eric has worked on the following:

SOULEIAS - 56 ft sloop
LYS NOIR - 80 ft yawl
FRIDAY STAR - 138 ft schooner
BELEM - 190 ft sail
STARDUST
RECOUVRANCE - 140 ft schooner

Eric worked on L'EMIGRANT for a season where he chartered with adolescent children, giving him precious experience in keeping children occupied.

 

Chef Jean Francois Dive
French. Age 27 (1999). Diploma from the Bruxelle Hotel University. 8 years professional experience (1999). Trained in Relais Chateaux Establishments.

Since the age of 17 Jean Francois has worked in some of the most prestigious restaurants in France. His idea was to cover all the regions of France to obtain maximum knowledge in the art of French cooking.

"When asked by Mr. Borgel to become the first chef aboard Douce France I couldn't refuse the opportunity to put at test my experience. It also gave me the chance to discover numerous flavours found in the Caribbean which I use to elaborate my menus."

"I especially enjoy making ice cream on board to marry with numerous desserts, and the guests particularly enjoy my home made french bread served warm at breakfast."

Dive Master Fabrice Rapenne
29 years old (1999). Private dive master as a permanent member of the crew of Douce France. Diving equipment on board for all guests wishing to dive.
  • Official diving certificates and passports delivered to guests diving on board.
  • First dives in total security for beginners and personal training and certificates for children.
  • Fabrice is a fully qualified dive master and life guard. he has been aboard Douce France for a year (1999) and wishes to stay aboard to offer clients the possibility to discover the underwater beauties in the Caribbean and Mediterranean.
  • He has swam down to 165 feet (50 meters) with out a tank.
